It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
How can talking to someone help?
During your visits with one of the mental health professionals, you can discuss mental health concerns, explore healthy coping mechanisms, and create a list of goals to improve your overall wellbeing. Our Mental health team can assist in developing pathways to heal from past traumatic events and move forward in a healthy and positive way.

With over 18 years experience working as a therapist, I have worked with a broad range of presenting issues to assist and support individuals, families and couples to gain deeper understanding and insight into the things that keep them stuck. My objective as a therapist is to provide a compassionate and safe environment where clients can experience healing from the past and move forward into the lives they desire.

Hi everyone, I would like to introduce myself to the community. I will be working with the Wellness Team out of the Health Centre as the Mental Wellness Clinician my name is Lionel Gunn .I was born and raised in Manitoba growing up in the community of Poplar Point and now live in Portage la Prairie .My employment background is as a registered nurse in a wide variety of health care settings over the past 25 years. I am a member of Spuzzum First Nation, which is located along the Fraser River in southwestern British Columbia. I look forward to getting to know the people and community of Dakota Tipi.
